We have to admit, if you are a real shopaholic and you live all year in Ibiza or you come to visit the island within the beloved off-season, the winter might be a little depressing for you regarding shopping possibilities. Most of the cute little and local boutique’s are closed during the winter months. Only the big fashion chains like Zara, Bershka, Stradivarius, Mango, Intimissimi, Calzedonia etc. are opened all year. Basically you can say all the big stores located on the Av. Bartomeu de Rosellò and on Av. D’Ignasi Wallis are also opened right now.
Normally the little boutiques on Vara de Rey are opened, too, during winter month. But if you have been in Ibiza town in the past few months you have noticed, there is a huge construction site at the whole place, which will last until April.
All the other boutiques located in the old town of Ibiza will open beginning of April / end of April. DressedIn Ibiza will keep you up-to-date about the fashion store openings of 2017! Just stay tuned.
However, there are still things to do for fashionistas like you on our beloved white isle.
This week we checked out for you the hippy market at St. Joan.
The hippy market at St. Joan takes places every Sunday all year long and is probably the most authentic hippy market on the island. Located in the north-centre of Ibiza, you will meet there loads of locals and authentic hippies living on Ibiza for many years.
Apart from the great shopping possibilities at this lovely market, there is a stage where a local rock band is playing live music every week, people sitting on the stairs enjoying the sun, dancing in front of the stage and sitting the café, where you can overlook the whole market (and it’s very hard to find a free table!).
Fashion addicts can find there a lot of hand-made jewellery, accessories and even clothes produced on Ibiza, every item is one-of-a-kind and extremely beautiful!
But even apart from fashion items, this market is a shopping paradise! Handmade and organic beauty products like soaps and crèmes, organic olive oil and coffee, fruits and home accessories will keep your heart rate constantly high, while you walk over the colourful market, enjoying the sun!
