Backless gowns are the ultimate expression of elegance and sensuality, as actresses showcase on the Oscars and other galas and after-parties every year. When we see them walking down the red carpet, we can’t help but having mixing feelings of envy and admiration run through our whole body: on one hand, we are smitten by their amazing and unique designs with strategic necklines — both front and back —, and on the other hand, we envy them, we envy them a lot because we would like to be like them and look as stunning as they do. Hair, make-up, jewelry, clothes… everything makes us speechless, and all we can do is just sighing.

But the truth is that we don’t need to be them, neither walk through the glamorous red carpet to pull off a striking neckline and look fabulous, especially now that summer is coming and we feel like showing a little bit more skin. But precisely with this kind of necks, feeling comfortable in our skin — never mind the repetition — can be a real challenge! No one wants to end up “frontless”, and when you are wearing a backless frock, a regular bra won’t just do — that’s a well-known fashion fact. Who wants to be caught with a non-aesthetic bra band going across our back? So, in order to rock the backless look without showing everyone the bra you are wearing or looking sloppy, you’re going to need to be creative. But no worries ladies! As they say, where there is a will, there is a way, and DressedIn Ibiza has compiled 5 tipps to wear backless that will make you look flawless.

1.- Silicone sticks on bras. This option is the answer to your prayers! It’s the perfect choice to expose your back, while feeling comfortable as if you were wearing a regular bra — without the actual straps, of course. They will provide lift, support and protection. What else do you need?

2.- Breast petals. If you are small breasted and don’t need much support, but an extra layer of protection, go for bra petals. They are just small nude flower-shaped stickers, nice to the touch and great to prevent your nipples from showing through your dress and avoid any possible wardrobe malfunction — no need for #Nipplegate.

3.- Lower back strap bras. This is a very useful type of bra when you are wearing a dress with only the upper back exposed. The lower back straps will hide under your dress and give the required support to your breast. You will feel safe and comfortable all the way!

4.- Boob tape. One way stylists and celebrities have to deal with backless dresses is with boob tape. It lifts your breast and creates a good cleavage; it even works for women with big boobs! — celebs like Kim Kardashian already tried it.

5.- Sheer lace bodies. If you need full support – let’s make use of big solutions for big problems -, then we suggest you to try a plunging V bodysuit with an open back featuring sheer lace. This way, you can still show off a sexy look without feeling compromised or insecure.

Choose the method that works best for your outfit and your body, and don’t forget to take great care of your skin and wear your hair up for a fully show off of your back!
